Youth Connekt: African youth urged to retain business opportunities at home

Rwandan Minister of ICT and youth affairs Jean Philbert Nsengimana reminded young people from 14 countries across Africa that leaving their home nations for better lives in foreign countries is not a guarantee for success.

Min Nsengimana told African youth to benefit from opportunities at home instead of fleeing to Europe

He thereafter suggested to them to retain business opportunities in their home countries and strive to benefit from them instead of leaving African continent.

The Youth Connekt is an umbrella of young African business owners who are skilled in information technology willing to make their knowledge productive for their mother lands.

Minister Nsengimana said that in this period where migration is increasingly becoming a global challenge as more Africans and Asians are fleeing their countries towards Europe for the search of a better life.

Min Nsengimana however finds this migration less logical and realistic as it takes people to a continent that is naturally less richer than Africa. For him, African youth should remain their home countries, provide more efforts to make the on ground opportunities more productive and sustainable.

News report that more of the migrants perish while trying to cross the oceans, others die in the deserts among other deadly issues they encounter.

As Africa is naturally the richest continent in the world, Minister Nsengimana urged the African youth to remain in their respective nations and learn on how the available resources can bear more fruits and help natives emerge from extreme poverty towards prosperity.

The Youth Connekt is scheduled to last for three days and has brought together young people from  Burkina faso, Gabon, Congo Brazzaville, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea , Ghana, Lesotho, Liberia, Sao Tome, Sierra Leone, Swaziland, Uganda, Zimbabwe, DRC and Rwanda.
